About me

My name is Jane and I am a chronic migraine and vertigo sufferer.

For the last 30 years, I have suffered with migraine. Until recently, I never really understood just how many types of migraine there are, I just avoided the "key triggers".

In the build up to my wedding, I had a bad vertigo attack. I'll write a blog on this to explain what happened and the diagnosis and advice I had at the time (the clue is in the title of my page!), but basically it turned out to be BPPV. This caused much hilarity among my family and friends; "you always get stuff no-one has ever heard of!".

BPPV started a whole new rollercoaster of vertigo, interspersed with chronic migraine.

More recently, the vertigo attacks got worse and I ended up going through more tests. The outcome of this was that I was fine, I still "just" had chronic migraine and vertigo, and I now had PPPD as the cherry on top.

Of course, I now know that there are many types of migraine and vertigo and that there are no generic "key triggers".

I live with it daily and some days I have to let it win. As a 50 something woman, I have many other challenges to add to the mix.

This is my life.
